Recipe Policy:

I believe that recipes are a form of writing, not just notation; and that recipe development is a legitimate form of artistic, creative expression. Especially now, when a well-refined search query can produce at least a recipe for just about anything (or failing that, a photo, menu item, or product page evidencing its existence) I also believe that ideas and concepts cannot be copyrighted, it is one’s execution, refinement, and expression thereof to which one is entitled.

That said, I am quite liberal in my “inspirational attribution” – meaning that even if my recipe is, by all modern standards, entirely mine, but was heavily and equally inspired by three others, I’m still generally going to err on the side of karma and sharing that information. And if I have adapted a recipe, I’m most certainly at least going to state as much and do my due diligence to provide a source; if the source requires further permission requests or parameters, you can read and cook assured knowing I’ve obliged accordingly.

Similarly, all recipes posted here (above caveats excepted) will be noted as “created by and for ChroniCuriosity”, and as such, are copyright protected material. If you want to adapt one of my recipes for your own blog, by all means, thanks and go ahead! I simply request that you:

1) state as much; (i.e., “Adapted from ChroniCuriosity’s ‘Mix & Match Stir Fry’”);

2) provide  to the original recipe URL link, NOT JUST chronicuriosity.com;

3) send me an email or comment on the original recipe post letting me know and linking back to your post.

You can read more about all this adapted/inspired/created by stuff the rules I play by and expect others to with regards to my work (especially if you’re a food blogger) here.
